“I want him dead,” Striker said to the Darling. “Not just bitten multiple times, but his heart ripped out of his fucking chest.”

The Darling smiled, showing off his sharp fangs as he nodded. “Oh, I read you loud and clear. Jake won’t be able to recover once we’re done with him.”

“Bring me his head, and I’ll give you Pandora’s Box.” The underground nightclub wasn’t his to give, but Striker knew the owner, and the wolf only saw green. If Striker bought Pandora’s Box, then he could control a good portion of the Darling population.

Darlings had one nasty addiction. They craved pain. Goth nightclubs and BDSM clubs were notorious Darling hot spots. They were sadists in the purest sense of the word. Darlings sought out people who could endure pain as well, like someone who enjoyed getting a tattoo.

Since Jake was a bona fide junkie and liked to shoot up, he was the perfect target.

Darlings were not so easily controlled though. They were what humans thought of as vampires, except they didn’t suck blood and give pleasure. Their bite was extremely painful and left their victim writing in immeasurable pain for hours.

“You have a deal,” the man said.

Striker walked out, unable to stomach the noxious odor. Damn, those Darlings stunk. But he smiled to himself. If Flip wanted to play hardball, then Striker would see just how much the stepson meant to the agent.
